Our Farm

located in the heart of the
shenandoah valley

Sitting west of Woodstock, VA., the farm has been in the same family for four generations.

Many years ago Grandma Mandy who had inherited the farm from her parents, cooked for farm hands, friends and family. Hospitality was an important part of her makeup. Mandy subsidized her meager living that she made farming by opening the farmhouse to teachers at the one room schoolhouse nearby. All appreciated the warm family welcome they received.

“if you can’t stop in please smile as you go by”

When Berlin inherited the farm he earned a living as owner of a service station in Woodstock. He and his wife, Kathryn, carried on the open door tradition and the table was always set for any guest or guests from all parts of the country. Berlin insisted that the sign at the end of the lane always state “if you can’t stop in please smile as you go by”

Daughters, Barbara and Darlene carry on the tradition and there have been many visitors young and old that have benefited from the long running tradition of sharing what the farm has to offer.

We invite you to share the unique experience of staying on a working farm surrounded by vineyards. The seclusion is second only to the availability of many historical attractions, caverns and resorts. Please check the links for more information on available activities.
