The Blue Ridge
Behind the Name:
Windy Hollow is located at the foot of Little North Mountain, a part of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This mountain range is located in the eastern United States, starting at its southern-most portion in Georgia, then ending northward in Pennsylvania. The Blue Ridge mountains are also a part of the greater Appalachians Mountain range.
The art in this room is by artist, P. Buckley Moss. In 1964, Pat’s husband’s work took his family to Waynesboro, VA in the Shenandoah Valley. It was there that Pat came to appreciate the quiet beauty of rural scenery and to know the picturesque and deeply religious Mennonite and Amish “plain” people. She incorporated both into her art and her art career soared. Her website is www.pbuckleymoss.com.

The Massanutten
Behind the Name:
Windy Hollow is located in the Shenandoah Valley in the shadow of the Massanutten Mountain. The mountain bisects the Shenandoah Valley just east of Strasburg in Shenandoah County in the north, to its highest peak east of Harrisonburg in Rockingham County in the south. On the eastern side of the mountain range lies the Page Valley and the Blue Ridge Mountains. On the western side lies the North-Central Shenandoah Valley and the Great North Mountain of the Alleghany Mountains
Artwork in the Massanutten Room consists primarily of artists that depict the farm house settings similar to those in the valley.
